My name is Jake Pollock. I'm a program coordinator at Bia Vista Elementary School. I work for Bay Area Community Resources running after school and summer school programs.

I've seen how many families rely so heavily on our program and other programs like ours because they've told us. They tell us how they're able to stay at work and not have to call out early or get a different job because there's a safe place for their kids to be that their kids love to go to. 

Our attendance is great because the kids love to be there and I know from personal experience, I'm already looking at where I'm going to put my daughter in after school as soon as she's in TK, which is coming up this upcoming year. And yeah, I mean, both my wife and I work and we live in the same community where we work and we need these afterschool programs as much as all the families that we serve.
