More than numbers

I’m a newbie here. I’ve worked my career focused on the first half of the school day. When I had the chance to move into expanded Learning, I thought, “Why not?” I was greeted with a system of support, colleagues, peers, new friends, and thought partners all hyper-focused on the pivotal role we can play in the lives of youth across California (and beyond). With stable funding and data rolling in, it’s more important than ever to continue to match that data with stories of impact, empowerment and equity from across our State, and uplift the people who do the work to make these impacts happen.

I think all of us are born collectors. Some of us grow out of our collecting phases, some of us just pivot. I collect images and stories of people who are making an impact in their worlds, specifically, the world of Expanded Learning. Below is a small collection of images and stories from the Expanded Learning world. Look at the folks doing the work, read their stories, and hear their words. More to come, with a full launch set for 2026.
