“I think working with young people, it brings joy. You give back to the community. I work in Oakland. I see having been at Girls Inc., I've seen kids from Kinder all the way to high school going into college, bumping into them and saying, "I work here," or "I'm doing this." And it's just a reminder of, "I'm making a difference." I know I'm only having for two, three hours a day or maybe 15 hours a week depending on what program we serve. But for them to set themselves up for success and be able to navigate the systems is what brings me joy and purpose.”
